December 2016

December was busy, like it usually is. Preparing for Christmas parties and 2 December birthdays always takes a lot of time. I liked to sleep in the living room at night next to the bright lights of the Christmas tree. Kiki seemed to enjoy it as well.

Lana made the kids their own chicken ornament for the tree this year. They were so cute.

I made this burlap wreath for my brother and sister-in-law and I was so happy with how it turned out! I will have to make one for myself in the future.

Daddy was fixing the back doors and KyLee wanted to help, so she started handing him his tools.

We went to the annual Hunsaker Christmas party and got to see Santa. Bonnie didn't want to look at him or talk to him, but at least she sat on his lap this year.
Uriah had no problem asking Santa for expensive electronics he knew he likely wasn't going to get.

Jordyn snuggled up close and had more reasonable requests from Santa.

This was KyLee's 2nd Christmas, and she didn't seem to like the idea of Santa, but we were able to get  her to calm down enough for a picture.

One night, I caught KyLee playing with the ornaments on the tree. Little stinker.

In December, KyLee started carrying around her blanket with her everywhere.  It was the first time she's showed a dependency on something other than me (^_^)
For Jordyn's birthday, she decided she wanted to go bowling. We had lots of fun, and even KyLee enjoyed watching.
She told daddy that she wanted a rainbow cake for her birthday, so he colored 6 different cakes and stacked them all.
She was so happy with her cake, and we all loved how it tasted!

I didn't take any pictures on Christmas, but we had a nice day at home watching the kids open presents and playing with the things they got. They only got 4 presents each from mom and dad, and they got spoiled by their grandparents. KyLee needed help opening her presents, but once we got the paper off and she saw what was inside, she was much more interested.

Right before Christmas, the hospital cut Jared's hours and we've lost about $300-$400 a month. It has been hard for us. We're having to be extremely careful and minimal when we go grocery shopping. I have tried to come up with ways to help us be more responsible with budgeting. I have started substitute teaching for the school district to earn extra money so we can pay down our credit card debt. We have way too much of that and are almost slaves to those bills. I'm hoping, by documenting our financial situation and how I want it changed, that I will be better with our money in the future.

November 2016

I guess there wasn't a lot that happened in November. The Presidential Election came and I voted for a man named Evan McMullin. I felt he was the best candidate that I could vote for, even though I knew he had no chance to win. Donald Trump was elected president this year.

KyLee and Bonnie went with me to vote.

We had Thanksgiving in Pocatello at my parent's house. I found someone selling this tree for cheap, so I brought it home and put it up. It's about 12 feet tall, and our old tree was only 6 feet. This one looked so beautiful!

The kids helped me decorate it. We had a blast decorating while we watched some Christmas movies.

October 2016

KyLee liked to follow me almost everywhere I went.

KyLee watching the numbers on the scale light up.

Our newest Halloween decoration. We loved our blow-up dragon.

KyLee wasn't sure what to think.

The beefsteak tomatoes started to ripen.

So did Jared's habeneros.

We grew this watermelon in our garden and it was beautiful and tasted so sweet!

Jared took me out to shoot shotguns. It was the first time I had ever used a shotgun. I was nervous, but I got used to it!

Jordyn earned this lego set and she built it all herself.

KyLee had sweet and sour chicken for dinner and she loved it so much she couldn't stop licking her plate.

The weather started to turn cold, so we had to get what we could out of the garden. We had a ridiculous amount of tomatoes. We used as many as we could, but a lot of them went to waste.

I let Jordyn wear my skeleton earrings to school on Halloween.

We found a piano for sale and bought it. We have always wanted one and hope to get the kids in lessons soon.

The power went out for a few hours, and we learned that we have backup lights in our house.

My sweet KyLee bug.

When I put dishes in one dishwasher, KyLee would move them to another one.

This is one of my favorite pictures.

At pack meeting in October, Uriah got his first pin and we got to go to a straw maze, go on slides and eat donuts and hot chocolate.

Grandma McCurdy came to one Jordyn's last soccer game and she helped Uriah put on his scout suit so he could go collect canned food.

On Halloween, we went to the ward party. KyLee was a cow...

...Bonnie was princess Jasmine...

...Jordyn was Elsa from Frozen Fever...

...and Uriah was the red ninja from Ninjago.

We had lots of fun!

I was the operation game for Halloween.
