Haircuts and Illnesses

Life goes on...the countdown to baby #2 is now 9 weeks. Pretty crazy! We are doing what we can to get ready for the new addition, but I'm sure we will never be fully prepared. We were given my nephews twin bed and we will use that for Uriah when we have to put the new baby in the crib. That is still a ways away but we put the bed in his room for him to get used to. I'm hoping that the transition from crib to bed won't affect him too much. I still haven't bought any baby girl things yet. I have that lingering feeling in the back of my mind that is telling me that she could still come out being a boy. Luckily, my aunt offered to do a second ultrasound for me this weekend and then if she still tells me it's a girl then I will believe her. If we can't tell for certain by now then we never will!
Uriah is growing up so much. Last week when I picked him up from grandma's he had gotten a haircut, and I didn't even know about it! I was sad that his curly long hair in the back was gone, but he actually looks like a little boy now and hopefully people we pass in the store will stop calling him a girl.
Every time I see a new picture of him, I can't believe how great his eye looks. I never realized how bad it was when he was little because I was around him so much, but now that I have before and after pictures that I can look at, I can really see the difference. Modern medicine is a miracle, and I feel so blessed that we had a doctor concerned enough to recommend the surgery for us. In other updates, I got pretty sick last week. I pretty much got a bad cold, and being pregnant and sick at the same time is no fun, and I wasn't sure what I could take besides Tylenol so I was so stuffed up and achy that it was just a rough weekend. Luckily I didn't get a fever. Then Uriah got sick with a high fever and was a poor, grumpy baby for a while. We are both better now and back to ourselves. Uriah can now tell you what the lion says and what the snake says. It's so cute. Usually we ask him what the "beast" says because he knows that better than lion, but he does this cute little "rarr" and it is just so much fun!
