Quick Update

It has been a few weeks since I posted, and seeing as how I don't have any pictures to upload at this time, I thought I'd give a quick update. We finally got moved to our new apartment (woohoo!) and I love it so much. There is so much extra space, and I love that we have a garage to use for storage instead of shoving things into our clothes closets. We can put all of our new furniture into the living room, instead of splitting it up in two different rooms. Our bedroom actually has walking space, the kids both fit comfortably in their room and our study has plenty of room for studying and scrapbooking (^_^) We still have a few boxes in the garage that need unpacked but for the most part we are settled in.
We have had a round of sickness run through our home since we moved. The little ones started getting colds at the beginning of last week, then last Friday I got a nasty stomach flu and had to stay home from work, then Jared got it, and after the stomach flu went away we all started going through the cold that our kids have, and it still has a grip on us. Jordyn hasn't been sleeping well at night because she can't breathe, and I've been having to sleep flat on my back with my nose pointed straight up at the ceiling so that I can somewhat drain my sinuses and breathe out of my nose. We also have nasty mucus-filled coughs. Uggg...
Last week our kids started their very first time at day care, and I am very happy with how things are going so far. It is a day care run through the College of Education on campus and it is nationally accredited and also ICCP certified, and I have heard nothing bad about the place. They don't have very many spots so I was happy that I was able to get the kids in. Uriah gets to play outside at least 3 hours a day and I know he loves that. They also give us weekly updates on a website so we can see pictures of them playing and find out how they are doing. We applied for ICCP to help us out, and when our child care bill would normally be $866 a month, we only have to pay $280. That is such a blessing to us. I don't know what we'd do if we didn't get the help we needed from ICCP.
Jared has started going to school full time since we got married and he has also started job shadowing at a physical therapy office to get some hours under his belt and prepare him to apply for the physical therapy assistant program. I am really praying for him and hoping that he disciplines himself enough to get the grades he needs to get into the program.
On Saturday night we drove to Blackfoot to get some family pictures taken. I was very excited. It was our first photo shoot as a family with Jordyn, and it was also an outside shoot and I loved walking around along the river and finding fun places to shoot the pictures. A very good friend of mine, who I have known for a while through school, has a husband who does photography as a hobby, and he does such an amazing job. He did our first family pictures when Uriah was a baby and I knew I wanted to go right back to him for these family pictures. I can't wait to see how they turned out. I will be sure to post them when I get them. Well, that's about all I have to say for now. I'll wrap this up and hopefully have some pictures to post soon.

Eating Cake and Holding It Too

My twin brother and his wife were sealed for time and all eternity last weekend in Bountiful. We got to take some pictures of them outside of the temple. It was a very, very good day!

They are such a cute couple!

Okay, here are the pictures I promised of Jordyn sneaking into my plate of birthday cake.

Just look at that guilty face she is wearing! She knows she was caught red-handed! Or in this case, brown handed!

'Til Summer's End

As usual, the summer months seem to have disappeared and school will be starting again soon. If I actually had school to worry about, then I'd be as sad as any other student. However, I have graduated and working full time, and I am definitely looking forward to the summer being over so that my work load will get back to it's normal size. Here on campus (if you have a job like mine) there just isn't anything to do in the summer. No students to help, nothing to plan, nothing...I will be glad to have something on my desk that will make my days go by faster.
My husband, on the other hand, will be starting his first full time semester since we got married, and I am hoping that he will work hard to get his life where he wants it to be. Our kids will be going to day care of the first time, but we have been to the classrooms and have met the teachers and I am very confident that they will be taken care of and that they will have fun.
Speaking of my kids, Jordyn has started crawling! She took her first "hands and knees" crawl last week and she has been unstoppable since. She will go where she wants to go and there is no stopping her (^_^) She can also go from a lying down position to a sitting up position, and I think that is so cute. I love her so much!
On the 1st my twin brother and I had our 24th birthday bash. We just got together and played some games, but it was lots of fun. I had set my plate of cake on the floor by my chair while we were playing a game, and Jordyn decided that she had to have it, so she army crawled over to my plate while no one was looking and by the time we found her, she was elbow deep in chocolate cake! It was adorable, and I have a picture of her that I will have to post on here the first chance I get. After she did that, I knew we'd better keep our floors clean or she would be eating everything she could get her fingers on, edible or not!
This last weekend took us to Bountiful, where my twin brother and his wife were sealed for time and all eternity. It was a very good day, and I will never forget it. When we got outside, the skies were a dark, stormy blue and there was lightning and thunder. I thought it was a perfect sky. Luckily, it didn't start to rain until we had gotten to the restaurant for lunch, and then it poured like crazy! It was a great day, and one we had been waiting for for a long time.
Well, that's all I can think of for now. I will try to post my most recent pictures soon. Until next time!
