Not So Fast...

Okay, so I was a little premature in saying that I was 12 weeks along. I mean, according to my last "monthly fun time", I would have been 12 weeks, but when I went to the doctor for my first exam he told me that I didn't even feel like I was 8 weeks yet and he ordered an ultrasound. Well, that got me freaking out and thinking that something had happened and the baby had stopped growing and my mind was just running away to scary thoughts. Really, there was no reason for it to do that, but that's just how I am! A few hours later I went to the ultrasound and everything was okay. There was a baby inside of me about the size of a kidney bean and it had a very strong heartbeat. They told me that I was about 7 weeks 6 days along and that my due date was February 29th, 2012.   ......February 29th..... It really didn't hit me until I was talking to my mother about it and she said, "Wait, is there a 29th of February next year?" It completely left my mind that, more often than not, the month of February ends on the 28th LOL. When I told Jared about it he thought it would be really exciting to have a leap year baby. I mean, that opportunity only comes around every 4 years, right? Anyway, we will have to see how things go. We still have a ways to go. My first two babies were pretty much right on time, so if this one doesn't come early, maybe a leap year baby wouldn't be too bad to plan for (^_^)

Feeling Blah...

I have always taken some pride in the fact that with my first two pregnancies, I never felt sick. I NEVER had morning sickness, and the only time you would find me bending over a toilet or sink would be if I ate too much or laughed too hard (and that's no joke...if I can't stop laughing my stomach would not handle it too well). Well, now that I've discovered that I am going to have baby #3, I feel like I have a constant unease in my stomach. It's not just in the morning. It lasts all day. I don't ever feel sick enough to throw up, but I just want to lay down all day. It seems to be lightening up though. The queasy feelings in my stomach aren't as bad as they were a few weeks ago, so I am thankful for that. I guess that's what I get for thinking that all of my pregnancies were going to easy peasy. I know that things could be A LOT worse, and I have quite a few friends who have been awfully sick during their pregnancies, so I am counting my blessings. I give two thumbs up to the women who are barfing every morning and still going to work and trying to make it through the day. I'm nowhere close to being that sick, and here I am complaining about my stomach bothering me. Anyway, I am somewhere around 12 weeks. Tomorrow is my first appointment with the OB/GYN and if everything goes well, I will probably get to hear the heartbeat.

In other news, it's finally VEGAS week! I can't believe that 4 months ago I was planning a trip to Vegas with some of my family, and it felt so far away, but now it's finally here! We will be taking off on a long road trip Thursday morning and will be coming back on Sunday. On Friday night my mom and I will be going to see Garth Brooks! I can't believe it! I have been dreaming about seeing Garth perform live since I was about 12 years old, but when I heard that he had retired I thought my dream was shattered. Now, he performs in Vegas and I knew I just had to take this chance to see him. I can't wait to fulfill one of my dreams! On Saturday, we will be going to see Phantom of the Opera on stage. I have always wanted to see that musical performed live, and in Vegas, I bet it will be a good show. I will have lots of pictures to show when I get back, so my readers had better be ready to be Vegas'd!

The Biggest Show in Idaho

This last weekend we had the Stearns family reunion and it was lots of fun. The kids and daddy got to go on some water slides while mommy sat in the shade and watched because it was really hot. Needless to say, daddy got crispy fried by the sun! Then, yesterday we got to do one of my more favorite things...watch fireworks! The kids were afraid of the fireworks so we left Jordyn home and Uriah stayed in the car, but I try to make sure I get to see these every year. There is just something about them that I love, and I also love the patriotic music that they play along with the fireworks.

Blogger is giving me issues about uploading videos right now, so if you want to see some fun, you can see it here, here and here.
