Catching Up

The last two weeks have been wonderful. For a whole week and a half I got to spend every day with Jared, neither of us having to work. I got to fall asleep beside him at night. Gosh I missed that so much! We could do whatever we wanted together because we had all day. Well, Monday we turned our noses back to the grindstone. The day before Christmas Eve my car wouldn't start (and still doesn't) so my sister has been giving me rides to work, which means that I have been getting up about half an hour earlier than I used to so that I don't make her late for work. I've never hated my alarm clock as much as I did when I had to set it Sunday night. After two weeks of not hearing it, I really didn't want to set it again. But oh well. And then when I got home from work and the day worked it's way to the end, I realized that I would, once again, be going to bed without Jared. It made me sad...but I'm used to it.
It's registration week this week for ISU and that means things are always crazy. Monday and Tuesday were absolutely nuts. I constantly had something on my desk. Now is about the only time today that I have gotten a chance to do much. Things are always like this when we start another semester. Ah, another semester. This semester is supposed to be my last, but I'm honestly not sure if I want it to be. I mean, I am very excited to be getting a bachelor's degree, but I enjoy going to school and taking classes, and I'm wondering if maybe I should look into getting a minor or something. Who knows. I'm still thinking more about it.
Monday I bought my books. Yikes-O-Mikes! I had to buy 23 for myself, plus Jared's and my brother's, so I was walking around with 3 sacks of books and my purse. When I got back to work my fingers were almost numb and they were dark red. One of the handles on the bag broke, which made it that much harder to carry. This is the only thing that scares me about school. Having to read 23 different books in 4 months. I guess that's my fault though...I did choose my major :)
Something very awesome happened over the break. Uriah started to crawl, and he sits up perfectly on his own! Okay, so he's just army crawling, and some people don't consider that crawling, but I do because he is getting all the way across the living room and he's pretty darn fast about it! Crazy guy! He had his 6 month shots yesterday and he barely made a peep. He's so brave! He is 29 inches long (over the 100th percentile) and he weighs 18 lbs (75th). He is growing like a weed, at least in length. He's long and skinny, but cute cute cute! Who says only fat babies are cute? ;)
So, I have a confession to make. I have become a scrapaholic. Yes, I have started scrapbooking. It was something I always wanted to try. I scrapbooked my ultrasounds from before I had Uriah, but beyond that I didn't have much passion for it. So over the break I made myself get up and do something so that I wasn't just sitting around. I noticed that I had a stack of pictures next to my bed of Uriah that I needed to do something with, so I went to Sierra's and bought some stamps and the next thing you know, I've done all of his pictures, made two more trips to the scrapbooking store, and am now planning to scrapbook my wedding pictures. I don't know what happened, but suddenly I'm addicted. I think it's the stamps. Who doesn't like to dip something in ink and stamp it all over paper? :)
Well, that's about all I've got for now. I'll try to repent and update this thing more often. Aufwiedersehen!

  1. I love having kellen around too. he is so helpful with taking care of Jet. That is amazing with Uriah crawling. I agree with you that army crawling is still classified as crawling. Jet has started walking. She has to go slow, but yesterday she walked halfway across our kitchen. She gets excited and then she falls down. She has also learned to clap and it is so funny to watch. So Kacy is going to school this semester. Is he excited? When are he and Diedra getting married? I hope I spelled her name right.
