Quick Update
Well it has been a while since I posted because school has just been crazy and I've been trying so hard to keep up. So now I've finally gotten a chance to take a second and make another post. 2 weeks ago Uriah started pulling himself up to stuff, the couch, chairs, etc, and I was so excited when I walked into his bedroom and saw him standing up in his crib for the first time. It was so cute! He has also started to abandon his army crawl and move into a normal baby crawl. He uses both still, but he's getting there. On the 14th we got the best Valentine's present ever! Uriah cut his first tooth. All we know is that it wasn't there Friday night, and Saturday afternoon, there it was! We were very excited to see his tooth, but it has been hard on him. All I can say is thank goodness for baby oragel!

Catching Up
The last two weeks have been wonderful. For a whole week and a half I got to spend every day with Jared, neither of us having to work. I got to fall asleep beside him at night. Gosh I missed that so much! We could do whatever we wanted together because we had all day. Well, Monday we turned our noses back to the grindstone. The day before Christmas Eve my car wouldn't start (and still doesn't) so my sister has been giving me rides to work, which means that I have been getting up about half an hour earlier than I used to so that I don't make her late for work. I've never hated my alarm clock as much as I did when I had to set it Sunday night. After two weeks of not hearing it, I really didn't want to set it again. But oh well. And then when I got home from work and the day worked it's way to the end, I realized that I would, once again, be going to bed without Jared. It made me sad...but I'm used to it.
It's registration week this week for ISU and that means things are always crazy. Monday and Tuesday were absolutely nuts. I constantly had something on my desk. Now is about the only time today that I have gotten a chance to do much. Things are always like this when we start another semester. Ah, another semester. This semester is supposed to be my last, but I'm honestly not sure if I want it to be. I mean, I am very excited to be getting a bachelor's degree, but I enjoy going to school and taking classes, and I'm wondering if maybe I should look into getting a minor or something. Who knows. I'm still thinking more about it.
Monday I bought my books. Yikes-O-Mikes! I had to buy 23 for myself, plus Jared's and my brother's, so I was walking around with 3 sacks of books and my purse. When I got back to work my fingers were almost numb and they were dark red. One of the handles on the bag broke, which made it that much harder to carry. This is the only thing that scares me about school. Having to read 23 different books in 4 months. I guess that's my fault though...I did choose my major :)
Something very awesome happened over the break. Uriah started to crawl, and he sits up perfectly on his own! Okay, so he's just army crawling, and some people don't consider that crawling, but I do because he is getting all the way across the living room and he's pretty darn fast about it! Crazy guy! He had his 6 month shots yesterday and he barely made a peep. He's so brave! He is 29 inches long (over the 100th percentile) and he weighs 18 lbs (75th). He is growing like a weed, at least in length. He's long and skinny, but cute cute cute! Who says only fat babies are cute? ;)
So, I have a confession to make. I have become a scrapaholic. Yes, I have started scrapbooking. It was something I always wanted to try. I scrapbooked my ultrasounds from before I had Uriah, but beyond that I didn't have much passion for it. So over the break I made myself get up and do something so that I wasn't just sitting around. I noticed that I had a stack of pictures next to my bed of Uriah that I needed to do something with, so I went to Sierra's and bought some stamps and the next thing you know, I've done all of his pictures, made two more trips to the scrapbooking store, and am now planning to scrapbook my wedding pictures. I don't know what happened, but suddenly I'm addicted. I think it's the stamps. Who doesn't like to dip something in ink and stamp it all over paper? :)
Well, that's about all I've got for now. I'll try to repent and update this thing more often. Aufwiedersehen!

It's the Holiday Season
What a day it has been! Uriah woke up at 6:30 to have a bottle and the weather outside was absolutely frightful! I checked the 511 and interstates all over are closed: to Utah, to Rupert, to Idaho Falls, to almost anywhere! The snow is piled up right to our door and we have a huge awning over our door and snow never gets up to it! Our car is parked under an awning and it is completely covered in snow. It is 11:30 and it is still snowing! It has been a wonderful way to start Uriah's first Christmas. At 8:30 we finally got up to feed Uriah breakfast (Rice cereal and pears) and then we started opening presents. Uriah loves to rip the paper off of the presents. He got a box of cereal, two blankets, two outfits, a Dr. Seuss book, some toy links, and a Little People Aeroplane! It is so cute. Jared got some body wash, a big jar of Jelly Bellys, a Philadelphia Eagles blanket, a new white shirt and tie, and The Battle for Middle Earth computer game anthology. Jared got me the Twilight book series in hardback, the first book is the special collector's edition with the author's signature on the front page. Jared's parents got me some makeup and The Tales of Beetle the Bard. I also got some warm vanilla sugar soap and lotion from my mom and dad and the 9th season of Frasier (my favorite TV show!) We have had a wonderful morning and we hope that everyone else has an awesome Christmas. If anyone travels, we hope you are all safe. A white Christmas is lovely, but it's not always the safest (^_^) Happy Christmas!

Bushel of Birthdays
What a weekend we had. Friday night we babysatt Miranda and then Jared's uncle and aunt made him a cheesecake for his birthday. It was very delicious. Saturday morning we went and did some shopping for a family we know who is in need and then we grabbed some presents for their kids (with a little help from a family in our ward) and we took all the stuff over to them Saturday afternoon. They were so grateful. I had a hard time not getting teary-eyed because I know what it is like to be in need, and to know that we provided Christmas for their children made me feel really happy.
So since Jared's birthday was Sunday I had decided we were going to celebrate on Saturday. After we delivered our secret santa stuff I took Jared roller blading at Deleta. It was a BLAST! It took us a while to get balanced because it has been at least 10 years for each of us since we've been skating at all, and Jared biffed it once, but it was a lot of fun. It really made me feel like a kid again, and roller blading is so much fun anyway. Then after that we got a Papa Murpheys pizza and took it home and watched a movie.
Then at 6:30 saturday we went to my nephews birthday party. He was born on Jared's birthday one year ago. His name is Phoenix, and he's a cutie. Anyway, we watched him eat his first cake and open his first presents. Jared got to open his birthday presents too. He got a box of chocolates from my sister, a box of chocolate covered cherries from me, a Philadelphia Eagles tie from me, and a collection of Christmas cartoons (also from me).

On Sunday I made Jared a special dinner of lasagna, garlic bread and veggies, with leftover cheesecake, and we watched some of the Christmas cartoons he got the day earlier. He said he had a great birthday, and I am glad that he did. His happiness means everything to me!
So then I get up this morning to go to work, and I'm calf-deep in snow and brushing snow off my car with my broom....crazy! I did not see this much snow coming at all! Besides that, it has been snowing almost all day long, and I am really hoping they cancel work for the rest of the week, but we will have to see (^_^) I would really love to just stay home to get some rest and recover from these sniffles I haven't been able to get rid of, but oh well. Only 3 more days until Christmas! Merry Christmas everyone!
